Questions About Home Watch?
Everything you need to know about how Lakeland Home Watch Co. protects and monitors your property while you’re away.
Start Here!
-
Home Watch is a scheduled visual check of your property while you are away. The goal is to identify obvious issues early, document the condition of the home, and give you a reliable local point of contact when you cannot be there yourself.
-
A professional Home Watch company provides consistency, documentation, accountability, and a trained set of eyes on your property. Rather than relying on a neighbor or friend to “take a quick look,” every visit follows a defined process and includes clear communication about what was observed.
-
At a minimum, each visit includes a visual exterior and interior walkthrough, a check of the home’s temperature and humidity, observation of HVAC operation, visible plumbing areas, signs of leaks or moisture, doors and windows, and any obvious changes to the property. Photos and a written report are provided after each visit.
Every home is different, so the exact checklist is customized to the property and the homeowner’s needs. Your visit may also include specific items such as a pool, garage, vehicles, plants, packages, or other areas you would like monitored.
-
Most homeowners choose weekly or biweekly visits. The right schedule depends on how long you will be away, the condition of the property, insurance requirements, and your personal comfort level. We can help you choose a schedule that makes sense for your home.
-
Yes. After each visit, you will receive a documented report with photos and notes on the condition of the property. If anything requires attention, it will be clearly identified so you know exactly what was observed.
-
If we discover something unusual or potentially urgent, we will contact you promptly and provide photos and details. Depending on your instructions, we can also help coordinate access for a contractor or service provider so the issue can be addressed while you are away.
-
No. Home Watch is not a home inspection, code inspection, security service, or technical evaluation of the home’s systems. It is a scheduled visual observation intended to identify obvious changes or concerns while the property is unoccupied.
